If you think it’s surprising that Twilight star Kristen Stewart will play guitarist Joan Jett in the upcoming biopic about Jett’s all-girl ’70s band the Runaways, then you might want to sit down for this one: Dakota Fanning is in negotiations to play Runaways singer Cheri Currie!

According to Variety, the 15-year-old actress may star as wild child Currie — who admitted to using marijuana, Quaaludes, and cocaine at, coincidentally, 15 — in the still-untitled movie, which is set to begin production this spring. It will center around Jett and Currie during the band’s rocky four-year tenure in the 1970s.

The proto-punk quintet, which originally formed in 1975,had a short but successful career and is best known for barroom classics like “Cherry Bomb” (watch below).

It’s tough to tell if Stewart and Fanning will be convincing as two of rock’s most badass females, but with music video director Floria Sigismondi on writing and directing duties it’s off to a promising start.
