Daft Punk fans who braved the turkey-stuffed crowds on Black Friday (Nov. 23) in order to snatch up hard copies of the electro duo's previously detailed live offering, Daft Punk Alive 2007, may have run into a slight problem – the new set was no where to be found. The album, which is available now via iTunes and originally scheduled to drop as a hard copy Nov. 20, will now arrive Dec. 4. Count the days; only one week from tomorrow until you can cognitively join the 18,000 fans dancing to Parisians Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo's beats during their first hometown show in 10 years.

Pete Doherty Preps Solo Debut
On the heels of releasing Shotter's Nation, Babyshambles' sophomore set, drug-addled frontman Pete Doherty has pushed forward on his much-mooted solo debut, completing three songs of the album's tentative 12 tracks alongside producer Jake Foir. "We're recording it piecemeal between two studios in London. We go in for two or three hours at a time, usually at about two in the morning, and get stuff down," Foir told NME.com. "It sounds slower and more intimate [than Babyshambles]. Pete's writing is more universal, rather than about personal experiences."
Featuring an eclectic pool of collaborators, including his Babyshambles bandmates on the track "Cuckoo," plus members of the band the Thirst and London-based rapper Klashnekoff, the forthcoming opus will tentatively drop courtesy of Parlophone, also home to Babyshambles. But currently, Foir states, the label giant is upset with Doherty's solo recording efforts, which are currently outside of contract. Maybe Doherty will "do a Radiohead," too.
