Hear Daft Punk’s Own Luxuriously Expansive 10-Minute ‘Get Lucky’ Remix

Daft Punk, "Get Lucky" remix

Daft Punk kindly invite you to “Get Lucky” longer. When the robotic French duo first revealed plans to remix Essential album Random Access Memories‘ lead single (one of SPIN’s 40 Best Songs of 2013 So Far) themselves, it made sense they might reverse-engineer the album’s live-instrument approach and remake the song in the electronic mode that made them famous. Didn’t happen. Their “Get Lucky” remix, streaming via Spotify below, stretches out Nile Rodgers’ familiar guitar flickers and Pharrell’s suave vocals about phoenixes and bar-raising to a massive 10 minutes.

A July 16 vinyl release is available for pre-order now, and you can watch a 47-second trailer for the release above. If your complaint about “Get Lucky” was that it didn’t last long enough, you’re on a roll. And while we’re on the subject: Don’t sleep on Nicolas Jaar and Dave Harrington’s excellent, unofficial full-album remix of Random Access Memories.
