Daft Punk’s Coachella Album Trailer Confirms Guests Pharrell Williams, Julian Casablancas

Daft Punk aren’t on the bill for Coachella this year, but the futuristic French duo did make an appearance at the annual Indio festival last night (April 12), by way of a new trailer for their upcoming full-length, Random Access Memories (out May 21 via Columbia Records). The just-under-two-minute clip features an extended peek at “Get Lucky,” the first sliver of new music to surface from Daft Punk’s long-awaited Human After All follow-up, and also confirms the pending LP’s star-studded list of collaborators.

Pharrell Williams sings lead vocals in the above video, with previously confirmed Random Access Memories guest Nile Rodgers supplying glittery, disco-flavored guitar work. Robo-DJs Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo flank Rodgers and Williams, who slickly sings, “We’re up all night till the sun / We’re up all night to get some / We’re up all night for good fun / We’re up all night to get lucky.”

Then comes the call-sheet, starring Animal Collective’s Panda Bear, the Strokes‘ Julian Casablancas, DJ Falcon, Chilly Gonzales, Paul Williams, Giorgio Moroder, and Todd Edwards. Looks like that leaked list of features (via FACT) was legit after all.

On the subject of Coachella, be sure to catch live sets from Phoenix, the Postal Service, Grizzly Bear, Wu-Tang Clan, the xx, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, and many more by streaming their performances here. And stay tuned to SPIN’s on-the-ground coverage of the fest during both weekends.
