John and Yoko have done much more for world peace than just laying about naked in a big bed: Yoko is teaming up with Amnesty International to release Make Some Noise, a set of John Lennon covers to raise awareness about human rights. The Cure, the Postal Service, Snow Patrol, the Black Eyed Peas, and several others will be covering iconic Lennon tracks for a Dec. 10 release. The songs will be available to commemorate International Human Rights Day. Amnesty International hopes to attract a million new supporters worldwide through their Make Some Noise recordings. Yoko Ono had this eloquent statement on the subject: "Music speaks the language of freedom, revolution and solidarity. Without that freedom -- without music that is angry, joyful and necessary -- we are nothing," she says on Amnesty International's website. Another set of Lennon covers, including one by Avril Lavigne, will be available early next year.
