Cults Announce New Album ‘Static’ With ‘Poltergeist’-Like Preview

cults, new album, static, trailer

Cults are making a comeback this fall. The New York indie-pop duo, composed of Madeline Follin and Brian Oblivion, will release their sophomore album, Static, on October 15 via Columbia. Follin and Oblivion produced the upcoming LP with help from Shane Stoneback (who worked on Cults’ swooning 2011 debut) and Ben Allen (Washed Out, Animal Collective, Youth Lagoon).

News of the impending collection came via the above teaser trailer, a (fittingly) static-heavy clip that features snippets of new tracks “We’ve Got It” and “So Far” (via Consequence of Sound). A full track list for Static has not been announced yet.

Cults also have a few tour dates lined up, including a stop at this year’s Voodoo Music + Arts Experience, which just added more than 40 acts to its already stellar lineup. Find live details below.

Cults tour dates:

July 26 – Chicago, IL @ Subterranean
July 27 – Chicago, IL @ Wicker Park Fest
July 28 – Seattle, WA @ Capitol Hill Block Party
September 7 – Dallas, TX @ Untapped Festival
September 8 – Sacramento, CA @ Launch Festival 2013
