To put it lightly, it's been a tough few weeks for Courtney Love. (We could probably have typed that sentence anytime between 1993 and the present.) Lawsuits and more lawsuits aside, the Hole singer had to reckon with the 18th anniversary of her late husband's death, which likely helped fuel her recent rages, including a rant in the comments of a local blog about the Muppets covering "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and, horrifyingly, a bunch of tweets claiming her arch-nemesis Dave Grohl had creeped on her 19-year-old daughter Frances Bean Cobain. Finally, when Frances herself issued a statement denying the icky claims and announcing that "Twitter should ban [her] mother," Love apparently decided that this weekend was the time to put the hate behind her. Hours before she made a surprise appearance with Hole in Brooklyn Friday night, Love apologized to F. Bean the only way she knows how — via Twitter:
Bean, sorry I believed the gossip.. Mommy loves you— Courtney Love Cobain (@Courtney) April 14, 2012
Not exactly the most maternal (or subtle) way to apologize, but considering other methods would most likely violate a restraining order, there probably weren't a whole lot of other ways for Love to get the job done so swiftly.
