If Conan O'Brien's new late night hosting gig on TBS doesn't work out, he seems to have found a suitable back-up plan: rock star.

Thursday night, after hinting of a collaboration with Jack White via his Twitter, the funnyman took the stage with White Stripes/Dead Weather frontman Jack White at White's Third Man Records in Nashville, before a crowd of 300 invited guests.

O'Brien opened the show with a rendition of Elvis Presley's "Blue Moon" and played The Stray Cats' "Rock This Town," as well as a version of Willie Nelson's "On The Road Again" (changing the lyrics to: "My old show again/ I just can't wait to get my old show again"), according to the Associated Press. When Conan veered away from the setlist to play Radiohead's "Creep," White unexpectedly jumped on stage to join in. He and O'Brien also performed a cover of Eddie Cochran's "Twenty Flight Rock."

Later, O'Brien said the concert was "probably the most fun [he's] had in show business."

According to the Team Coco blog, "The energy in the room was incredible: The band lit by a dim red light, the hot Nashville air thick with excitement; the room packed to capacity - it was a scene the likes of which I've never experienced."

Watch Jack White's introduce O'Brien to a screaming crowd in the video below, calling the funnyman a "rockabilly legend in the making."
