Matador Records will reissue Eleven: Eleven, the 1992 debut album from Boston indie outfit Come, as a deluxe double-disc CD and 2xLP vinyl set on May 7, the label announced today (January 18). “Despite being one of the best albums in this label’s long history and one of the more memorable debut albums in an era full of ‘em, Eleven: Eleven has been out of print for far too long,” the post reads. The re-release will come with the original record, plus a bonus disc capturing Come’s October 10, 1992 performance at the Vermonstress Festival. The vinyl pressings will also include an extra 7-inch reissue containing Eleven: Eleven‘s “Fast Piss Blues” b/w “I Got the Blues” single.
As Matador notes, long before the pummeling four-piece — frontwoman Thalia Zedek, guitarist Chris Brokaw, bassist Sean O’Brien, and drummer Arthur Johnson — disbanded in 2001, Come enjoyed public praise from alt-gods such as Kurt Cobain, J Mascis, and Bob Mould. The band played several reunion shows in 2010 and 2011, and will get together once again for some gigs later this year (details are forthcoming). Via, Zedek’s follow-up to her 2008 solo album, Liars and Prayers, is due this March from label Thrill Jockey.
Matador will distribute the expanded Eleven: Eleven in North and South America, while German record label Glitterhouse will handle the packages’ European release. Watch a video of Come performing “Submerge,” Eleven: Eleven‘s opening track, below.
