"This is our time, the feeling is right," sings Colette on the opening track from her forthcoming album, When the Music's Loud. Chicago's First Lady of House drops her Italo-disco-owing new platter on August 27 via her own Candy Talk Records, but she's streaming the entire thing here. Active in her hometown scene since the early '90s, the DJ/singer/songwriter taps into a wealth of rich dance music history, and of course she's right to; it's hard to imagine a better time for Colette to make a full-length return. While tracks like "Hotwire" would play perfectly alongside a Disclosure-produced R&B jam, the electro-indebted "Electricity" could just as easily slip into the Drive soundtrack without raising any suspicions. Dive into ;When the Music's Loud below, and take a cue from the title when you do.
