The verdict is in: Brit quartet Coldplay -- on the cover of Spin's July issue -- have won over fans nationwide with their excellent new record Viva La Vida, selling an unparalleled 720,000 copies and landing atop the Billboard Top 200 with authority.

And U.S. listeners aren't the only ones loving the record: Viva La Vida currently sits in the no. 1 slot in the U.K., Japan, Australia, Canada, France, and Germany. What's more is that the album is iTunes' largest album pre-order in history, and its first single, the title track "Viva La Vida," surpasses piano-driven mega hit "Clocks" as the band's biggest selling single on iTunes ever. Yowsa!

For more from Coldplay, catch Chris Martin and his mates live on tour this summer and pick up Spin's July issue -- it hits newsstands today!
