Generally, tour dates are announced with little fanfare; at most a band will put a new graphic on their website. Mere flash animation pales in comparison to Coldplay’s latest stunt: Chris Martin and the gang allowed their fans to “unlock” the tour dates on a website specifically designed for the forthcoming Twisted Logic Tour. In order for the dates to be revealed, 33,000 visitors had to visit talkthetour.com. Within 51 hours, the site was accessed 384,000 times. Registering with the website unlocks chances to win all sorts of other Coldplay affiliated goodies, including front row tickets to a show, a trip to the 2006 Grammy Awards, and the possibility of a private conference call with the band. The tour kicks off on January 25 in Seattle, Washington. Fiona Apple will support the band on some dates, and ex-Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft will open on others.
