Watch Cold Cave’s Soul-Excavating ‘A Little Death to Laugh’ Video

cold cave, wes eisold, a little death to laugh

Back in September, shortly after Cold Cave announced the addition of four new members, the Wes Eisold-driven project dropped “A Little Death to Laugh,” a bleak, lockstep bit of synth-pop packaged on a 7-inch. Now, despite having since released another single (the driving “Oceans With No End”), Cold Cave have dropped a creepy video for the first. The black-and-white, three-and-a-half-minute clip features a shirtless, sunglasses-clad Eisold standing still, lip-syncing in front of the camera. As the glitchy melody drills on, a second, superimposed image of Eisold materializes and begins dancing in place. It’s a creepy trick that makes it look as though the frontman’s spirit is escaping his body — just enough death to have some fun.
