After a period apart indulging in the proverbial solo projects, Metric reconvened in a Toronto studio earlier this year to being work on the much-anticipated follow up 2005's Live it Out -- and SPIN.com has the first leak: an acoustic rendition of "Give Me Sympathy," as performed by guitarist Jimmy Shaw and vocalist Emily Haines at our Coachella pad.

Watch footage of the performance, as Shaw fingers through power-chords and Haines coos, "would you rather be the Beatles or the Rolling Stones?," then watch a video interview, in which the band describe their new album ("big and expansive and airy") and unique mindset going into the studio.
