Chrome Canyon

A cinematic clip from the former Apes & Androids member's most recent full-length, out now on Stones Throw

Chrome Canyon, the gleaming brainchild of Morgan Z (formerly of New York City's glammy Apes & Androids) put out a great debut LP, Elemental Themes, last year. That effort was an analog leap into the textures and sounds of '80s synths'n'soundtracks genii Giorgio Moroder and Vangelis. "Generations" is similarly dramatic. And this time it's accompanied by appropriately moody imagery courtesy of director Ace Norton (Bloc Party, Death Cab for Cutie), whose video (a collaboration with Scion A/V) for the track features ballet dancer Amanda Wells. Chrome Canyon's music is already so cinematic that it could make footage of an office serf deleting spam seem compelling, but Norton and Wells have come up with some striking (and enhancing) visuals of their own.
