Chris Cornell’s Solo Tour, Wilco at Jazz Fest + More

  • Chris Cornell has announced his first-ever solo acoustic tour, which will feature the singer performing stripped-back versions of Soundgarden tunes. The 25-day trek kicks off on April 1 in Austin, TX and wraps May 6 in San Diego. [Chris Cornell’s Official Site]

  • Wilco, Arcade Fire, the Strokes, and Kid Rock will headline the 2011 Jazz Fest in New Orleans, which kicks off April 29 and wraps on May 8. Willie Nelson, Lauryn Hill, Mumford and Sons, Lupe Fiasco, and Lucinda Williams round out the eclectic line-up, which also features hundreds of local acts like Dr. John, Irma Thomas, the Neville Brothers, and others.   • Bob Dylan has inked a six-book deal with Simon and Schuster, according to reports. The songwriter, who published his best-selling memoir Chronicles in 2004, will reportedly pen two follow-ups to Chronicles as well as a book based on his satellite radio show, which he hosted from 2006 to 2009.
