Though we're still not entirely convinced that the forthcoming adaptation of John Green's The Fault in Our Stars wouldn't be better with Drake starring, whoever's in charge of the soundtrack did a pretty solid job at the very least. Last night, in advance of the film's June 6 release, there was a livestreamed YouTube promotional event which featured Charli XCX performing stripped-down renditions of "SuperLove" and "Boom Clap," her original song from the soundtrack.
Radio Dept., M83, and Lykke Li all also offered up songs to the soundtrack, but Charli was on the one hand with a performance that hyped up the youthful crowd. Nat Wolff, one of the movie's stars, also looked impressed — and he used to play in a little band of his own. You can stream the whole event above or jump to just before the 35 minute mark for Charli's performance.
