Well here’s a Friday surprise: three days before the official release of Charli XCX’s second album, Sucker (which you can stream right now), the British pop sensation has unleashed a scorching, two-minute long European bonus track called “Money (That’s What I Want).” A guitar-heavy, purring track, the new cut finds the “Gold Coins” singer prowling around in search of — what else? — money: “Your love gives me such a thrill / But your love won’t pay my bills.” It’s a brief but buzzing cover of the 1960 Barrett Strong original.
