Hear Charles Bradley’s Smoldering Black Sabbath Cover ‘Changes’

Charles Bradley Black Sabbath Changes Cover Budos

It’s no surprise that Charles Bradley made SPIN’s 20 Best R&B Albums of 2013. The 65-year-old Screaming Eagle of Soul’s voice is lament incarnate, and his second Daptone album Victim of Love is as stunning for the man’s sheer performance as it is for his ability to evoke heartache so well. If you haven’t heard it, fine, but a quick listen to his incredible cover of Black Sabbath’s “Changes” should be enough to convince you to dig further. Below, Bradley teams up with Budos Band for a remake that was previously only available on a Record Store Day Back to Black Friday 7-inch. We’ve already heard the B-side, “Ain’t It a Sin.” Listen here, and check the man’s updated tour schedule beneath the player.
