Connecticut-born chameleon Cassie reinvented herself at the top of 2012 with the dance-pop groove “King of Hearts,” and then flouted expectations further by wreaking havoc with Nicki Minaj, working over Kendrick Lamar, and dropping a raw, rapper-packed mixtape called RockaByeBaby. But tomorrow, she replants a flag for her the zero gravity R&B we first knew her for, appearing on the Solange-curated Saint Heron compilation alongside folks like Kelela, BC Kingdom, and Jhené Aiko. Below, via Stereogum, you can hear “Indo,” Cassie’s contribution and a fittingly hazy, dazed tribute to the song’s combustible subject matter. Not for nothing, Solange wrote and produced the new song.
