Carly Rae Jepsen became immortalized in one-hit wonder carbonite when her ubiquitous “Call Me Maybe” blanketed summer 2013. With her brand-new single, “I Really Like You,” however, Jepsen reclaims her pop frontrunner status. Echoing with ’80s electronic drums (not unlike Phil Collins’ famous DUN-DUN-DU-DUN-DUN-DUNNN fill in “It In The Air Tonight”), “I Really Like You” has everything: sugary synths, rump-shaking rhythms, and a a sincere, fully chantable chorus: “I really, really, really, really like you!” If this isn’t what a good old-fashioned crush sounds like, we don’t know what does.
