Flying Lotus — fresh off a scarily productive number of projects and live appearances — has just added another item on his to-do list. Tomorrow (April 30), the Brainfeeder Records founder will perform his first-ever live show in New York City as his cartoon alias, the Duality dealing Captain Murphy.

The Los Angeles-based label will host a showcase at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg as part of the ongoing Red Bull Music Academy showcase. Captain Murphy leads a lineup that features Teebs, the Underachievers, Azizi Gibson, PBDY, and DJ Lo Down Loretta Brown (a.k.a. Erykah Badu).

The gig is currently sold out, but highlights will be recorded and streamed exclusively via RBMARadio.com

This year’s Red Bull Music Academy kicked off on April 28 and runs until May 31. More than 200 artists — including James Murphy, Brian Eno, Giorgio Moroder, Four Tet, and Kim Gordon’s Body/Head project — will perform at 38 events happening throughout NYC.
