Caitlin Rose 'Pink Champagne' Video Tour Dates

Caitlin Rose’s SPIN Essential new album The Stand-In is chock full of gorgeous tunes that strike an enigmatic balance between her “cheerful sparkle and dark temperament,” as our reviewer Nate Cavalieri put it. “Pink Champagne” is no exception, as she paints a romantically rich wedding scene before undoing it all with dry acceptance: “Seein’ how we both said yes / I guess we’ll follow through.” The song’s duality is captured excellently in the clip above, filmed on a Texas porch shortly after South by Southwest by Yours Truly. Rose’s demeanor is reserved, if not a little bit melancholy, as she sings accompanied by a pair of strummers. “The thing about story songs,” she says into the camera, “is they’re not so much about the story as the sentiment you’re trying to relay.” True, and she’ll be relaying that sentiment on the road starting with an Austin gig tomorrow. Get to know Rose when she comes to your town (dates below) and also, naturally, via our very own profile on the rising Nashville player.
