Watch Broken Social Scene’s Big, Happy Family Reunion With Feist on ‘Fallon’

Broken Social Scene broke their extended hiatus last night (June 6) to appear on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. The Canadian collective crowded the NBC stage with guitars, drums, keyboards, horns, and longtime associate Feist to run through “Almost Crimes” — a taut standout from 2002’s classic You Forgot It in People — and “7/4 (Shoreline),” a cut from their 2005 self-titled LP.

BSS originally planned their reunion as a one-off gig to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their label, Arts & Crafts. That show is still happening tomorrow, June 8, at the Field Trip Music & Arts Festival in Toronto, but Kevin Drew and crew revealed last week that they’d be stopping by Fallon for a warm-up session. Broken Social Scene also recently shared new song “Day of the Kid,” the group’s first track since calling it quits in November 2011. The freshly dropped tune appeared on Arts & Crafts: X, a 10-track compilation celebrating A&C’s decade-long history.

Other artists scheduled to play the Field Trip festival include Feist, Ra Ra Riot, Bloc Party, Stars, and Cold Specks.
