Indie darling Conor Oberst, the preaching folkster behind Bright Eyes as well as a grass roots artist of Omaha's Saddle Creek Records now has a few more motives to stop through his Midwestern hometown. According to MTV.com via the Omaha World-Herald, Saddle Creek will open a multimillion-dollar complex in Omaha, Nebraska this Friday (June 8). The downtown hangout will offer a slew of sought after amenities; Slowdown, a 470-capacity club/bar named for Saddle Creek OG Slowdown Virginia, an art-house theater, apartments, retail stores, and a restaurant. If you move in who will arrive to fix that bathroom faucet leak? Landlords and Saddle Creek execs Robb Nansel and Jason Kulbel.

In related news, Mr. Oberst, a renowned onstage collaborator, will, much like a few other symphony loving indie rock outfits, bless SoCal fans with a little extra oomph to his performance this fall. According to Pitchfork, Bright Eyes have tapped the Los Angeles Philharmonic to provide string accompaniment to the band's Hollywood Bowl gig slated for Sept. 29.
