Brandy Clark's Anti-Cheater Strut Is Just as Funny on 'Letterman' Debut

Watch the country singer-songwriter perform her '12 Stories' highlight, "Stripes"

Marc Hogan

If you somehow slept on Brandy Clark until now, her network debut last night on Late Show With David Letterman wouldn't be a bad place to start. The Nashville songwriter's 12 Stories helped make 2013 a great year for country albums by female singers, and while its precariously heartbreaking "Take a Little Pill" is the one that ended up on SPIN's Best Songs of 2013 list, "Stripes" has all of the humor, no depression. Clark and her band presented the swaggering riposte impeccably on Letterman, reminding cheating lovers everywhere they'd be shot dead if orange weren't so much less flattering than they make it look on Netflix Originals.
