The rumors are true!

Following a cryptic countdown on the Killers’ website that began earlier this week, comes the news that frontman Brandon Flowers is planning to release his debut solo album, entitled Flamingo

Thursday the Las Vegas quartet’s website revealed a “Brandon Flowers” logo and this simple message: “THE NEW SOLO ALBUM – FLAMINGO – COMING SOON.”

In December, Flowers’ publicist told SPIN that Flowers had no intention of going solo, but after finishing their tour behind their most recent album, Day & Age, and dealing with the recent death of his mother, the frontman seems to have changed his tune.

However, the Killers’ aren’t over by any means. Back in January guitarist Dave Keuning admitted the band’s gigs in Australia would likely be their last for a while, but when asked if the hiatus was permanent, Keuning replied, “not as far as I know.”

In response to rumors that the band members were sick of each other, they posted an official statement on their website: “The Killers would also like to take this opportunity to assure their fans that any concerns about the future of the band are unfounded… there are no plans for an indefinite hiatus.”

The Killers also extended their record deal with Universal Publishing, which also covers solo projects, Billboard reports. Killers’ drummer Ronnie Vannucci has also joined supergroup Mt. Desolation alongside members of Keane, Mumford & Sons, and the Long Winters.
