Boys Noize's Alexander Ridha and British producer Erol Alkan are two of the better known DJs on the planet, and they've joined forces for a new single featuring Pulp's Jarvis Cocker. Check out "Avalanche (Terminal Velocity)" below.
Ridha and Alkan lay out a sprawling seven-minute groove that mixes trance's atmospheric elements with the polyrhythmic thump of disco. Cocker, meanwhile, imbues the tune with a spooky vibe and he recites the lyrics to Leonard Cohen's 1971 ballad "Avalanche." "Your laws do not compel me," he commands with a whisper. "To kneel Grotesque and bare / I, myself, am the pedestal / For this ugly hump at which you stare."
