Japanese metal polyglots Boris have announced they will be taking their heavily psychedelic, wildly diverse discography through American cities two nights at a time on a headlining “residency” tour, following the group’s performance at Austin Psych Fest.
The first night of the tour will feature Boris’ “all-time classics along with many new songs never before played in the U.S.,” while the second night will combines most of 2006’s massively doom-y Flood with “a noise/drone/experimental set.” The tour comes after Boris released three head-smashing albums in 2011. More recently, when not covering neo-shoegazers Asobi Seksu, the subgenre-traversing band has been going back to the souce with a blessedly sprawling version of My Bloody Valentine’s Loveless staple “Sometimes.”
