Congratulations, indie-rock superheroes Arcade Fire, Bon Iver, and Florence + the Machine — you are now officially well-known enough to compete against Linkin Park, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Maroon 5 in a battle for rock supremacy (really just the People's Choice Award for "Favorite Band"). Other nominees include Beastie Boys (who curiously are not up for Favorite Hip-Hop Artist), Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Mumford & Sons, OneRepublic, and Radiohead. See what happens when you win a major Grammy and Rosie O'Donnell learns your name?

"The People" will name their top entertainment picks for the 38th annual time on January 11, 2012 on CBS. Idolator whipped out their calculators and determined Katy Perry leads all music nominees with six nods, followed by Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, and Pitbull with five apiece. This year the show added two music categories whose nominees will be picked by fans, as well: Favorite Album of the Year and Favorite Tour Headliner.

Eminem and Rihanna dominated last year's ceremony. We feel obliged to tell you that at the 1991 show, MC Hammer won Favorite Male Musical Performer, 20 years before the idea of becoming a search engine mogul was even a glimmer in the rapper's eye. (Favorite song that year was "Ice Ice Baby," which, of course.)

This year, Eminem will compete for Favorite Male Artist against Blake Shelton, Bruno Mars, Cee Lo Green, Chris Brown, Drake, Enrique Iglesias, Jay-Z, Justin Bieber, Kanye West, Keith Urban, and Kenny Chesney. Adele will do the same against Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Miranda Lambert, Nicki Minaj, Pink, Rihanna, and Taylor Swift. The People's Choice folks must really wants some stars in the seats this year, because this is a list of pretty much everyone selling albums in 2011. The full rundown of music nominees (which also includes Foster the People, LMFAO, Jessie J, and Usher), can be perused here.
