Bob Dylan Plans Ballpark Tour

In this crippled economic climate, baseball teams are having trouble filling seats this season — but maybe rock’n’roll can save the day: Bob Dylan will once again spend his summer performing at minor league baseball stadiums in smaller American cities.

Joined by Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp, Dylan will play 22 family-friendly gigs at cozy ballparks like Durham Bulls Athletic Park in North Carolina (where the movie Bull Durham was filmed) and Ripken Stadium in tiny Aberdeen, MD. Doors will open at 5 P.M., and the show will begin at 5:30. And it’s a great value too: Each ticketholder can bring along a child under 14 for free!
