While longtime smack-talkers like Oasis and Kanye West are doing their best to quash the beef, Bloc Party singer/guitarist Kele Okereke is just slipping on his boxing gloves, offering a few fightin' words for Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon. [Via NME.com]

According to Okereke, the two Brits got into an altercation this past July at a music festival in Spain when Lydon's crew racially abused him. A backstage brawl allegedly ensued. Lydon, however, has previously denied Kele's claims and called him a "liar."

"I have only one thing to say about that man -- John Lydon is the devil in my eyes," Okereke told British newspaper The Sun. "I really wanted to, like, whip his face off. I was lucky I had lots of people around me who were calming me down ... I'm not really someone who's very good at backing down from fights. I'm just pleased there are witnesses."

So are we, Kele -- although we have to imagine that getting into a scuffle with the perennially crazy Lydon is about as fun as...eating glass, perhaps?
