Bleachers, the poppier project from fun.’s Jack Antonoff, joined forces with CHVRCHES frontwoman Lauren Mayberry last night for a rousing cover of “Go Your Own Way” to close out the VH1 You Oughta Know concert. Mayberry’s vulnerable yet strong voice did the Fleetwood Mac standard justice, with help of course from the always energetic Bleachers. The concert was meant to celebrate up-and-coming artists, and in addition to Bleachers and CHVRCHES (who both played on their own earlier in the show), musicians like Sam Smith, Tove Lo, and Aloe Blacc all graced the stage at New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom.
The performance continued CHRVCHES’ stellar record when it comes to covers — they’ve also found success playing Lorde’s “Team,” a Christmas song from a mid-nineties British boy band, and the Game of Thrones theme. Watch Mayberry and Bleacher’s try their hand on “Go Your Own Way” above.
