Blossoming movie stars the Black Lips, known on the silver screen as the Renegades, have unveiled an extensive U.S. tour in support of Good Bad Not Evil,the quartet’s fifth LP out now courtesy of Vice. The stage antics andself-described “flower punk” will commence with a hometown show inAtlanta Nov. 30 before strolling through a handful of stops before theend of 2007. To ring in the New Year, the Black Lips will then hit theroad proper like, gigging in cities across the nation, from Denver toSan Diego, Seattle to Detroit, Dallas to Brooklyn, and many cities inbetween. The exhaustive outing will conclude where it began — in frontof the hometown crowds March 22.

Nashville-based garage rockers Be Your Own Pet have announced the release of sophomore set Get Awkward,the quartet’s follow up to 2006’s self-titled debut, due to storeshelves March 18. The new album, a 15-track affair recorded by the band– frontwoman Jemina Pearl, guitarist Jonas Stein, bassist NathanVasquez, and drummer John Eatherly — in their hometown alongsideproducer Steve McDonald (the Format) will deliver tunes with titleslike “Super Soaked,” “Zombie Graveyard Party,” and “The Kelly Affair.”

Mick Jones, Tony James’ Carbon/Silicon to Play LA, NY
Ex-Clash axe maven Mick Jonesand former-Generation X constituent Tony James’ project Carbon/Silicon,forged in the studio as the two musicians-cum-producers worked with theLibertines in 2002, will head stateside this December to log its firstpair of U.S. performances. Rolling out with a gig in Los Angeles Dec.3, the band — featuring bassist Leo ‘E-zee-Kill’ Williams (Big Audio Dynamite, Dreadzone) and drummer Dominic Greensmith (Reef) — will then hit New York, unveiling tunes from the band’s latest Internet offering, The Last Post.
