The Black Keys are going on tour. That news is, of course, no surprise considering their forthcoming eighth album Turn Blue is pretty much upon us, but the Akron-hailing, Nashville-based rock-blues duo made the announcement with their own inimitable aplomb. In the video above, they call a press conference, seemingly in an FBI building, essentially so they can be laughed at by the friends, fans, and possibly family gathered.

Of course, it's all to say the band is launching the North American leg of a world tour kicking off in September, with support from Cage the Elephant, St. Vincent, and Jake Bugg. Presale begins Tuesday, May 13 at 10 a.m. local and can be accessed by pre-ordering Turn Blue via the Black Keys site only. General sale starts Friday, May 16, same time.

Peep the dates below, and revisit the televangelical video for "Fever," the gloomy title track, the stormy single "Bullet in the Brain," and also that weird prank call from drummer Patrick Carney to his band's label, Nonesuch.
