The Black Keys are showing more of their cards ahead of their May 13 album Turn Blue, and while it's still early to say whether it's a full house, indications so far suggest the game remains pretty much the same. The Akron, Ohio garage-rock duo performed on Later ... With Jools Holland earlier this week, they'll play on Saturday Night Live on May 10, and today they shared the cryptic, televanglism-themed video for punchy new single "Fever." The combo's Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney have also shared shared the subdued Turn Blue title track, and the latest tune to surface, "Bullet in the Brain," somewhat splits the difference between our previous two glimpses of the album. After a slow, anguished start, the dark-hued song picks up the pace for a series of tempestuous, synth-sliced crests, for an effect that coincidentally brings to mind Louisiana band Brass Bed's "A Bullet for You" in more than just name. The song premiered on BBC Radio 1, where you can also hear a full live session from the band.
