Bijou Phillips Gets Blistered for Biopic

Having already tackled out-of-character roles like a vengeful teen in Larry Clark’s Bully and Paris Hilton’s real-life best friend, Bijou Phillips has ventured onto the well-worn path of actress-turned-musician.

Phillips plays the role of Germs bassist, Lorna Doom, in the seminal punk band’s biopic, What We Do Is Secret, set to hit theaters later this year, according to MTV News.

In her cover story in the May issue of Stuff magazine, the party girl revealed she learned to play bass for the role, and she has the blebs to prove it.

“You want to chop off your hand at the end,” Phillips said of the many blisters she got during filming. “We recorded all the songs by the Germs live and played to our own recordings in the movie.”

“It was guerilla filmmaking,” she continued, “but I can’t imagine doing a movie about the Germs with a big budget. That would be so wrong.”
