Big Boi, Ludacris and T.I. Revisit the Trap on ‘In the A’

Big Boi In the A Ludacris T.I. Vicious Lies Dangerous Rumors

Little by little, we’re learning more about Big Boi’s upcoming second solo album, Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors. SPIN has now attended two separate listening parties, shared the retro-futuristic video for Kelly Rowland collab “Mama Told Me,” and even sat down with Daddy Fat Sax himself to discuss such key details as how he learned to make an apple bong from the guys in Modest Mouse. The guest-heavy new set, due December 11, has also yielded a synth-poppy teamup with Phantogram and A$AP Rocky dubbed “Lines,” and now we have a more traditional track called “In the A” featuring fellow Atlantians Ludacris and T.I. The lumbering beat stomps forth in time with massive tuba blasts while trappy hi-hats skitter out of its way. The three Georgian gentelmen trade elastic rhymes about weed, cars, homes and women — the creature comforts they’ve come to appreciate as grown ass men living “In the A.”
