Big Boi Collaborates with Atlanta Ballet

Big Boi, a.k.a Antwan Patton, the sturdy suit and tie half of Atlanta’s eclectic rap duo OutKast, may be shining off some new dance moves to take to the stage. According to AccessAtlanta.com, Big Boi has signed on for a collaboration with the Atlanta Ballet for what the dance troupe’s website describes as a “Daring, progressive, and soulful” performance “featuring the world-renowned musical artistry of Big Boi,” slated to debut April 10-13 of next year. The show will deliver Big Boi’s contributions “LIVE on stage with Atlanta Ballet’s exquisite dancers.”

Details regarding the nature of Big Boi’s involvement have yet to surface; he may perform tunes on stage while Atlanta’s finest prancers strut, or, he could be joining them. Yesterday (May 1), the rapper met with choreographer Lauri Stallings and Purple Ribbon Entertainment officials to begin production for the yet-to-be named performance.
