U.K. producer Bibio is prepping his seventh album for a May 14 release via the estimable Warp Records. As previously noted, the thing is called Silver Wilkinson and appears to be stocked with a mix of folk ditties, electro excursions, psych-pop asides, and at least one song (“You”) that manages to bring the Avalanches to mind. We’ve heard “À tout à l’heure” before, and it’s one of the album’s more interesting combinations of organic instrumentation and electronic oomph. Bibio himself co-directs the song’s new video, which accomplishes a similar feat by transposing 8mm film footage of natural scenery against itself to create silhouettes of people, animals, and instruments. Bibio’s vocals fly high over the scenery like a flock of fancy freewheeling French eagles saying “toodle-oo” as they pass.
