Beta Band’s Mason: Hot Shot No More

Stephen Mason, the even-voiced lead singer of High Fidelity fave the Beta Band is releasing a second solo EP under the moniker King Biscuit Time. Mason released his first Biscuit release back in 2000, an eight track EP called No Style. The forthcoming EP, which will be out on Astralwerks early next year, is as-yet untitled, but will include the single “C I Am 15,” says the U.K. website playlouder.com. The new King Biscuit album sounds a lot like Beta Band album — a mixture of electronica, dancehall, and pop psychedelia. The Betas disbanded last year in the wake of excessive critical praise but very little monetary success
