Though it's been less than a year since BET last handed out trophies, the annual BET Awards aired Sunday night and pulled in a host of star-studded performances.
Pharrell kicked off the pop-minded show with a rendition of "Come and Get It Bae," which might be the only track from G I R L that he's yet to bring to the entire late-night TV circuit. Following that, Missy Elliott came to the stage for a surprise performance of her own "Pass the Dutch," which enlisted the "Happy" singer as a hype man of sorts.
Lil Wayne (performing his recent singles "Krazy" and "Believe Me"), Nicki Minaj, Robin Thicke, August Alsina, John Legend, and Jhene Aiko all held down the middle part of the telecast with solid sets. Piped in from a recent stop on their "On the Run" tour, Beyoncé and Jay Z closed the program with a stunning delivery of "Partition," which featured a new verse from Jay at the beginning.
