  • Best Coast‘s Bethany Cosentino has tapped actress Drew Barrymore to direct the video for her Crazy for You track “Our Deal.” The clip, part of the MTV Supervideo series that pairs celebrities with musicians, will also star Community star and budding rapper Donald Glover and Miranda Cosgrove from the popular Nickelodeon show iCarly.   • After several sneak peeks at its tracks — including My Morning Jacket’s “True Love Ways” — the all-star Buddy Holly tribute album Rave On is streaming in full over at NPR. Head here to listen to the set, which includes Cee Lo, Fiona Apple, Julian Casablancas, Patti Smith, Modest Mouse, and more covering the rock’n’roll legend’s songs.

  • A 19-year-old man died at the Electric Daisy Carnival in Dallas, TX, on June 19, while around 30 other concert-goers were treated for heat, drug, and alcohol-related problems. The cause of death for the one attendee has not been disclosed, and toxicology reports are pending. At last summer’s Carnival, a 15-year-old female passed away from an overdose on ecstasy.   • Wild Flag — the indie-rock supergroup featuring Helium‘s Mary Timony and Sleater-Kinney‘s Carrie Brownstein — will release their anticipated self-titled debut on September 13 via Merge Records. The group has also debuted another tune on New Jersey radio WFMU; head here to stream the psychedelic rocker “Romance.”

  • As Grizzly Bear wrap up recording their fourth album, the band’s Chris Taylor has a new project in the works. His collaboration with with Twin Shadow‘s George Lewis Jr., under the moniker CANT, will emerge on September 13. The disc is titled Dreams Come True, and marks the second pairing of the two artists: Taylor produced Twin Shadow’s Forget. [Warp Records]
