Soul Man Bernhoft Sings Underwater in ‘Come Around’ Video

Bernhoft Come Around Video Islander Album

Bernhoft is great at holding his breath. This is not a metaphor — the Norwegian soul man spends the entirety of his new music video underwater. Of course, he took breathing breaks, but he managed 90 seconds at a time singing at the bottom of a pool in the Joey Garfield-directed clip for “Come Around.” That first single from his third album is a funk-kissed delight, smooth but with substance and a fair indicator of what’s to come with Islander, due June 24 via Big Picnic Records.

“That song came to me while I was driving from San Francisco to Los Angeles and blasting the radio,” said Bernhoft via statement, “and just being reminded of what music can do to you, how much it can affect you.”
