As the story goes, Brian DeGraw transformed into bEEdEEgEE after leaving behind Gang Gang Dance and New York City for a solo existence in Woodstock. Last month we heard the first taste of his just-out nine-song set SUM/ONE — “Flowers,” a collaboration with CSS singer Lovefoxx replete with goopy synths, fuzzy beats, and tone-warped vocals. Now that seven-and-a-half-minute song gets a very appropriate video to go with. Seen above, the Vinyl Williams team-up drops the viewer into a freaky world of ’90s arcade graphics filtered through a VHS haze, spliced with footage of our visiting vocalist, whose own appearance gets a couple layers of distortion. Warble-wobble with these two by hitting the play button.
SUM/ONE is out now via 4AD. Bonus jam below.
