Beck, Bowie, MGMT, Broken Social Scene, and Metric are among the acts set to appear on two indie-centric soundtracks set for release this summer: comic book adaptation Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World and Sundance sensation The Kids Are All Right.

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, directed by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead), recruited Beck and Broken Social Scene to record original material for the film, which will be performed in the film by fictional bands SEX BOB-OMB (featuring bassist Scott Pilgrim, played by Michael Cera) and Crash and the Boys. The movie also features new music from Metric, as well as classics from the Rolling Stones and T-Rex.

In the film, Pilgrim tries to prove his love for Ramona Flowers (played by Mary Elizabeth Winstrad) by defeating all seven of her evil exes.Sounds far out — and perfect for Beck!

The Lisa Cholodenko-directed dramedy The Kids Are All Right tells the story of lesbian parents (Annette Benning, Julianne Moore) whose two children decide to meet their biological father. The soundtrack features a blend of new and old classics like Bowie and Joni Mitchell, as well as MGMT, Deerhoof, and CSS.
