Beatport has opened up online voting for this year's Beatport Awards. Between February 13 and February 28, fans can visit the electronic music hub and single out their personal picks for Track of the Year, Artist of the Year, Label of the Year, and Album of the Year.
Some of the notable nominees: Disclosure's Essential Settle and Daft Punk's Grammy-winning Random Access Memories for Album of the Year; Avicii, Krewella, and Zedd all have a shot at Artist of the Year title; OWSLA, Bedrock Records, and Dim Mak are featured in the Label of the Year category; and Track of the Year could go to Avicii's Nicky Romero face-off "I Could Be the One," Purple Disco Machine's "My House," and Martin Garrix's "Animals," to name a few.
Up through February 28, fans can head to Beatport and cast one vote a day for their favorite nominee in each "Community Choice" category. Results will be announced on Friday, March 7, along with the winners in several other categories.
Based on Beatport sales activity in 2013, victors will be crowned in the following groups: Best-Selling Original Track of the Year, Best-Selling Remix of the Year, Best-Selling Album of the Year, Best-Selling Compilation of the Year, and the DJ Choice Award (honoring the track that appeared on the most DJ charts). Separately, a panel of Beatport staffers and dance music experts will hand out a number of special honors: Track of the Year, DJ of the Year, Best Musical Collaboration, Best New Artist, and Lifetime Achievement.
