Backstage at Lollapalooza: LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy

The dance rock denizen braves daylight and talks about playing before Daft Punk.

For a fella who made it on the coattails of a song about Daft Punk, playing on an adjacent stage right before the French disco house legends couldn't be more fitting for James Murphy and LCD Soundsystem. Murphy visited with SPIN.com's Peter Gaston to chat about his hopes to get back in the studio soon as a producer -- he hasn't produced a full album since the Rapture -- and about his band's melodramatic, set-closing masterpiece, "New York, I Love You."
