Watch Au Revoir Simone Remake Martin Scorsese’s Bizarre ‘After Hours’

Au Revoir Simone, martin scorsese, after hours, move in spectrum

Au Revoir Simone pay homage to Martin Scorsese in the just-released video for their precious new single “Crazy.” Directors Alex Braverman and Poppy de Villeneuve have crafted a three-and-a-half-minute remake of Scorsese’s underrated 1985 film After Hours, a nightmarish and brilliant black comedy that follows an office drone (or “word processor,” as they were known in the ’80s) through a surreal night in Manhattan’s SoHo. To promote their upcoming fourth album, the synth-pop trio composed of Erika Forster, Annie Hart, and Heather D’Angelo assume the roles played by several of the movie’s stars, including Griffin Dunne, Rosanna Arquette, Linda Fiorentino, and Terri Garr. Watch the “Crazy” video above (via Stereogum) and compare it to the trailer for After Hours below.

Au Revoir Simone’s Move in Spectrums LP features the previously heard “Somebody Who” and is set to arrive on September 24 via Moshi Moshi/Instant.
