The top of the work week can be tough, but Atropolis and his vocally blessed gal-pal Carol C are doing their best to provide relief. The New York born-and-bred producer gets an assist from Si*Sé's singer on his new single "Which Way to Go," a buoyant, tropically inclined electronic anthem perfect for any listener feeling strapped for a little "me time." The song hails from the beatsmith's forthcoming sophomore album, Transitions, the first release from the artist's own Cumba Mela label, which grew out of a DJ project associated with Brooklyn's warehouse party scene.
Atropolis' affinity for blending styles — moombahton, cumbia, kuduro, house, dubstep — earned him the attention of the beloved Dutty Artz imprint, but he's since decided to go it alone. Lyrically speaking, "Which Way to Go" seeks that kind of inner confidence, as Carol C coos, "I need to meditate, focus on my direction." The playful video, directed by Brooklyn Shanti and Rod Morata, finds the pair playing, painting, and grooving. Not a bad way to spend a day.
